Join us for our April Public Meeting!
Join the City of Baltimore on Tuesday, April 4th, to see the study results, including the proposed 2-way cycle track on Washington Street and traffic calming on Wolfe Street.
About this study
This study, funded by a 2019 Maryland Department of Transportation Kim Lamphier Bikeways Network Program grant. The Bikeways Program “seeks to leverage past investments in bicycle facilities, complement existing state, local, and federal programs, and promote biking as a fun, healthy transportation mode”. This project will study the feasibility of providing dedicated bicycle lanes along Wolfe Street and/or Washington Street in accordance with the 2015 City of Baltimore Bike Master Plan and 2017 Separated Bike Lane Network Plan.
The goal of the potential bicycle facility will be to provide increased connectivity from Fell’s Point to Clifton Park and connections to current and future bicycle facilities within the City through the implementation of a safe, low-stress bicycle environment.
Beginning in January 2021, the City and their team will actively collaborate with residents, community members, institutions, businesses, and agency partners through four formal rounds of engagement to educate, listen, inform, and understand their concerns, priorities, and preferences.
The study will conclude in early 2023 with the publication of findings and will provide the foundation for the next phase of preliminary design followed by construction and implementation.
